There is a saying-with-an-acronym that you can utilize in Jin Shin Jyutsu to calm states of suffering: “When you hold your fingers you get rid of Worry F A S T.”
- Worry is thumb;
- Fear is index finger;
- Anger is middle finger;
- Sadness is ring finger;
- Trying-to or pretense is little finger.
Just hold the finger any way that feels comfortable. Left side of the body is for tension related to heredity and what you came in with; right side of the body is for lifestyle: disharmonies that may be occurring as a result of your circumstances, thoughts, words, actions. Since we all are a product of heredity to a large degree, it may be just right to start on the left (the exhaling side of the body) and then do the right (the inhaling side of the body).

Center of the palm is to reestablish your deep knowing that you are an essential part of All-That-Is. If you are suffering with despondency, when you feel separate from your Universal source, hold your palm/s. Holding both palms at once is a powerful and comforting practice (see photo).
