I encountered Jin Shin Jyutsu and began my studies in 1998. As of 2023 I am celebrating 25 years of learning and transformation utilizing this art.

When Jin Shin Jyutsu is experienced in conjunction with, or in place of, certain drugs or invasive procedures, one is lending support to the body’s systems rather than suppressing or eliminating symptoms and then dealing with the side-effects. These systems are precise and are ultimately responsible for healing that takes place.
What are the benefits of Jin Shin Jyutsu?
Jin Shin Jyutsu is usually referred to as energy work and has roots common to acupuncture. In this work, dozens of specific “flows” or series of Jin Shin Jyutsu holds are employed to help the body to reestablish the revitalizing life force or chi and bring about harmony. Jin Shin Jyutsu is unique among energy modalities such as Reiki, Acupressure and Shiatsu, in that, by utilizing pulse listening, as in Traditional Chinese Medicine, the practitioner works to address overloads or insufficiencies not just at the level of EFFECT in the organ function energies (lung, large intestine, stomach, spleen, heart, small intestine, bladder kidney, diaphragm, umbilicus, gall bladder and liver function energies), but also at the level of CAUSE on the pre-manifested level

Can I have a healthy, happy aging process?
It is a privilege to age. Along with that privilege comes the responsibility to meaningfully tend to and harmonize the tensions that can accumulate over time. Family history, difficult experiences, and injuries can all play a role in health outcomes at all ages, but particularly in our better years. Elders may find themselves more achy, more fearful, worried, and overwhelmed, less flexible, sadder, angrier, more alienated, faking-it-to-make-it, and increasingly prone to illness and injury. Attending to these accumulations and stressors by gently, naturally, and regularly reminding your body to return to — or create for the first time — a more healthful state will make your life better and more joy filled.

What is Jin Shin Jyutsu session like?
For a Jin Shin Jyutsu session, the client wears comfortable clothing and is free of watches and chunky jewelry — in short, comfortable enough to have a nice nap. Before your session we talk about your health projects and what your areas of tension and concern are. Once settled onto the cushioned treatment table, lying on your back, you may choose to be covered with a soft blanket. Listening to your pulses at both wrists I ascertain, based on what I hear in your pulses and what we have discussed, which series of Jin Shin Jyutsu holds I will employ to help your body release tension and access its most beneficial, peaceful, and harmonious state. Sometimes a client will appear to fall asleep during a session, experiencing this as having been in a twilight state of relaxation. The session lasts for one hour. When the session ends I will listen to the transformation of the pulses, and will offer simple Jin Shin Jyutsu self-help which you can use to continue harmonizing. The effects of the session often become more apparent the day following, when you notice you just feel better

It is understood in the art of Jin Shin Jyutsu that painful and limiting attitudes and emotions are just as significant a manifestation of disharmony, and are in fact inextricably intertwined with more tangibly physical conditions. It’s often the physical conditions that get our attention and force us to begin to peel back the layers of disharmonies that make life difficult. When this process is awakened, the ability to know/help one’s self at any time is key. Layers of stress and tension within one’s self and in relationships can be eased by addressing one’s own psychological pain and discomfort, resulting in a refreshed outlook that allows for more harmonious internal states and simpler, more connected human interactions
